California Loves Japan

This exhibition offers an overview of the creative relationship between California and Japan over the last hundred years.

Through a handful of examples and case studies, it tells the story of how Japanese design and culture has impacted the cultural landscape of California and fueled the development of Modern Architecture, but also how California has used, filtered, and reinterpreted these influences and turned them into pop culture.
