Please join us for an exclusive studio visit with Anthony James in Los Angeles.
Anthony James is a contemporary artist based in Los Angeles whose work bridges technology, philosophy, and sensory experience. Trained in painting at Central Saint Martins in London, James evolved his practice into large-scale sculpture and immersive installations that explore light, geometry, and perception.
His signature Portals series—constructed from stainless steel, glass, and LED light—creates expansive geometric forms inspired by Platonic solids. These works invite viewers into contemplative encounters with space and infinity, transforming environments and provoking introspection.
James’s art is rooted in a synthesis of Minimalism, Transcendentalism, and the West Coast Light and Space movement, yet feels uniquely contemporary through its integration of digital logic and architectural precision.
His sculptures have appeared at major international art fairs, museums, public installations, and even remote landscapes, most notably marking him as the first visual artist to exhibit on all seven continents with a Portal installed near the South Pole.
Through his work, James examines the intersections of science, spirituality, and human perception, creating experiences that feel both universal and deeply personal.
