Art Trip to Andalucía, Madrid & Menorca

Join the Palm Springs Art Museum for an exclusive nine-day journey through Andalucía, Madrid, and Menorca.

Guided by art historian Alard von Rohr-Demmin, this trip opens doors rarely available to the public, private palaces, world-class contemporary art collections in the homes of their owners, artists' studios, and leading foundations, across three of Spain's most storied cultural centers.

In Seville and Córdoba, we explore a beguiling blend of Moorish, Jewish, and Christian history alongside a thriving contemporary art and design scene: a directorial tour of the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC); the Alba family's Palacio de las Dueñas with the Duchess of Montoro; the Casa de Pilatos, the finest surviving private palace in Andalucía; and private viewings of Seville's most prestigious contemporary collections. Excursions include the Fundación Montenmedio Contemporánea sculpture park and the Great Mosque of Córdoba.

In Madrid, patrons enjoy private viewings of exceptional collections — from ARTnews Top 200 collectors to leading designers and architects — visits to the studios of celebrated artists including Cristina Iglesias, Secundino Hernández, and Santiago Sierra, and private tours of the Norman Foster Foundation and Ivorypress. The journey closes on the island of Menorca with Hauser & Wirth Menorca and its acclaimed exhibition program, and a guided tour of the island's Bronze- and Iron-Age Talayotic sites.

Accommodations: three nights at Hotel Alfonso XIII in Seville, three nights at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid, and two nights at Villa Le Blanc Gran Meliá in Mahón, Menorca.

Pricing

$17,000 per traveller (double occupancy) · $21,000 per traveller (single occupancy), based on a minimum of 18 paying travellers. Included: all visits and tours; daily buffet breakfast; six luncheons and seven dinners (with drinks); intra-trip flights (Seville–Madrid and Madrid–Mahón); private Mercedes transfers and VIP airport meet-and-greet; hotel wifi, porter service, and all gratuities.

Alard leads international travel programs for the boards of trustees of the New Museum NYC, ICA Boston, Dallas Museum of Art, Norton Museum of Art, Dia Art Foundation, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Orange County Museum of Art, Portland Art Museum Oregon, Palm Springs Art Museum, LAMOCA Collectors Circle, Montalvo Arts Center, Southern California Arts Council, American Friends of the Louvre, American Friends of Museums in Israel, Chief Executives Organization (CEO) and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Since 2006, Alard von Rohr-Demmin leads the team of art experts working for the Deutsche Bank at London’s Frieze Art Fair and Frieze Masters.
