Step inside the studio and into the creative process.
Open Studio is a studio-intensive series that examines how contemporary makers are redefining ideas around craft and material. Each session begins with an intimate artist-led conversation followed by a limited-capacity hands-on intensive workshop with the artist.
In this first edition, step inside the studio and into the creative process of artist and maker Georgina Treviño.

ARTIST TALK
Before the workshop, join Georgina Treviño for an Artist Talk where she will share her art practice in conversation with Dr. Luisa Heredia, Chief Education and Community Engagement Office at Palm Springs Art Museum
WORKSHOP DETAILS
Over the course of three hours, participants will create a small collection of wearable pieces, including earrings (hoops and studs), a brooch, and a necklace. Drawing from Treviño's jewelry practice and interest in adornment, participants will work with found objects, repurposed jewelry, charms, rhinestones, chains, and other decorative materials to create one-of-a-kind pieces.

HOW TO PREPARE
- All materials are provided
- Channel your intuition and prepare to experiment freely
- Bring old jewelry, sentimental pieces, or collections of jewelry fragments that are no longer wearable and give them new life.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Through playful exploration and guided support, participants will discover new ways of combining objects, colors, and textures while developing a personal collection of handcrafted jewelry.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Georgina Treviño
Georgina Treviño is a contemporary artist and jeweler from Tijuana, Mexico based in San Diego, California. In 2004 she earned a BA in Applied Design with an Emphasis in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from San Diego State University.
Her work has been part of several national & international exhibitions, including Racine Art Museum & Schmuck 2015 Munich, Current 2021-2022 exhibitions include Design Fair Museum of Art and Design, Puerto Rico curated by Embajada Gallery ; Dream Machine New York Jewelry week ; Salon Cosa Mexico City & Small Acts curated by Craft desert.
She has worked directly with celebrities like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Rosalia, 2Chainz, Bella Hadid, Lizzo, Doja Cat, Kali Uchis, as well as brands like Nike, E.l.f. cosmetics, Bimba y Lola, Fenty, Guess & Spotify for custom work inquiries & collaborations.
