Join us for a special live figure drawing session held within The Female Form: Tom Wesselmann & Mickalene Thomas from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation exhibition in collaboration with the Coachella Valley Collective.
Explore gesture, expression, and intimacy in the context of Mickalene Thomas’s installation of L’Espace Entre Les Deux. This guided drawing experience will feature a series of timed poses with a clothed model, creating a welcoming environment for both first-time participants and experienced artists.
Surrounded by the exhibition’s vibrant exploration of identity, representation, and beauty, participants will have the rare opportunity to draw directly within the gallery space while engaging with the themes and visual language of the exhibition.
Recommended Ages 13+
Recommended Materials: Graphite drawing pencils, charcoal, and a kneaded eraser, paper. A limited supply of basic drawing materials will be available for participants who need them.

The CV Collective is a collaboration of local creatives that have come together to spread their passion for the arts, community, and social resistance. The collective is based out of their studio in the City of Coachella, under the same name, and together these artists provide the public access to the visual, literary, and performing arts, while also creating a safe space for the underserved. The collective currently consists of North Star, Val Moreno, Arturo and Ericka Castellanos (Props2Poetry), and Saul Rivas.
