Introduction to Oil Painting: A Beginner's Workshop
(Recommended for ages 12+)
Whether you're completely new to painting or looking to explore a new medium, this 1-hour workshop offers a welcoming and hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of working with oil paints. Attendees will learn the basic hows and whys of painting with oil paint versus other mediums, like acrylic paint. This workshop will cover topics such as setting up your palette, mixing oil paints, painting gradations, and even how to clean and care for your brushes. All materials are provided, and no prior art experience or natural talent is needed. Note: no toxic solvents, thinners, or turpentine will be used in this class.
Create your own Lowrider
This drop-in workshop offers a range of activities inspired by lowrider culture. Visitors can explore a visual introduction to custom paint eras, choose from various 1962 Chevrolet Impala templates to build a 3D lowrider papercraft using assorted craft materials, or try their hand at airbrushing techniques on a large-scale cardboard version of the same model. Participants are welcome to engage with one or all of the stations at their own pace.
Heat Transfers with Million
Create a custom item by collaging and layering heat transfer images. Mixed media artist Million will spark creativity by sharing designs related to our museums collection and works on view. Limited supply on canvas blanks will be available, bring your own item to make it extra special!

Introducción a la Pintura al Óleo: Taller para Principiantes
(recomendado a partir de 12 años)
Tanto si eres nuevo en la pintura como si buscas explorar un nuevo medio, este taller de 1 hora ofrece una introducción práctica y amena a los fundamentos del trabajo con pintura al óleo. Aprenderás las claves para pintar al óleo en comparación con otros medios, como la pintura acrílica. Este taller abarcará temas como la preparación de la paleta, la mezcla de óleos, las gradaciones de pintura e incluso la limpieza y el cuidado de los pinceles. Se proporcionan todos los materiales y no se requiere experiencia previa ni talento innato. Nota: En esta clase no se utilizarán disolventes tóxicos, diluyentes ni trementina.
Crea tu propio Lowrider
Este taller sin cita previa ofrece una variedad de actividades inspiradas en la cultura lowrider. Los visitantes pueden explorar una introducción visual a las épocas de la pintura personalizada, elegir entre varias plantillas del Chevrolet Impala de 1962 para construir un lowrider en papel 3D con diversos materiales, o probar técnicas de aerografía en una versión de cartón a gran escala del mismo modelo. Los participantes pueden participar en una o todas las estaciones a su propio ritmo.
Transferencias de calor con Million
Crea un artículo personalizado haciendo collages y superponiendo imágenes de transferencias de calor.
