Tony Award and Grammy Award Winner Debbie Gravitte
A Tony and Grammy winner for Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, currently back on the boards in the smash hit Just in Time, with an electrifying career in theater, nightclubs, concerts, Emmy-nominated PBS specials, symphony shows, and solo albums – joined by Michael Orland at the piano.
About Debbie Gravitte
Debbie Gravitte received the Tony Award for her critically acclaimed performance in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, along with the New York Showstopper Award, a Grammy Award, and a Drama Desk Award nomination. She’s currently in the smash hit Just in Time on Broadway, having made her debut in the original cast of They’re Playing Our Song, and went on to appear in Blues in the Night, Perfectly Frank (Drama Desk Award nomination), Zorba, Ain’t Broadway Grand?, Chicago, and Les Misérables. Debbie appeared in London in Jerry Herman’s Mack and Mabel at the Drury Lane Theatre, in the West Coast premiere of The Goodbye Girl, Love Life (in Philadelphia), Fiddler on the Roof with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and in the Encores! productions of The Boys from Syracuse, Tenderloin, and Carnival at New York’s City Center. Debbie has performed her nightclub act worldwide, currently tours with her partner David Lawrence in A Toast to Steve and Eydie, and received an Emmy nomination for one of her numerous PBS specials. She has sung with over 200 orchestras worldwide and is featured on many recordings, including four solo albums. Films: Isn’t She Great and Disney’s The Little Mermaid. About Cabaret 88
The long-running Cabaret 88 series is a unique theatrical experience taking place at the Annenberg Theater, inside Palm Springs Art Museum. The stage of the Annenberg Theater is transformed into an elegant cabaret room, with guests seated at tables mere feet from the performer and the piano, creating an unforgettable intimate evening of music.
Producer Scott Nevins curates a roster of guest artists featuring some of the best musical talent from the worlds of Broadway, TV and the recording industry, with each artist performing four shows––Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night. Each evening begins with a beautiful hosted reception for audience members in the Meyerman Sculpture Garden before they enter the theater for an exquisite live performance.
