Kick off Black History Month with student performances and a reception, followed by a curator lead tour on African American artists in the Palm Springs Art Museum collection. Student performances include the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center Drill Team and Drum Squad, and the Coachella Valley, BRAAF (Building Resilience in African American Families) Rites Of Passage Youth Group.

The Mission of the Palm Springs Black History Committee (PSBHC) is to promote unity to diverse cultures of the Coachella Valley and build a spirit of cooperation between the diverse cultures and educate about contributions of local African-Americans in building the vibrant Coachella Valley.
