Black History Month at Palm Springs Art Museum is back. Together with our longstanding partner, Palm Springs Black History Committee, we honor 100 years of Black History Month celebrations with the 2026 national theme, A Century of Black History Commemorations. Join us for a special series of programs occurring every Thursday in February featuring live music, art, community, and conversation.
To kick off this year’s Black History Month opening celebration at Palm Springs Art Museum, we welcome performances by the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center drumline and drill team, followed by remarks from the Palm Springs Black History Committee, Christine Vendredi, Joann McGrath Executive Director at Palm Springs Art Museum, and Palm Springs Mayor Naomi Soto. Violinist, Poetic Moor will open and close the night’s program with a live musical performance.
Small Bites from Tasteful Soul Catering with Chef Corinne will also be available for purchase. Come celebrate A Century of Black History Commemorations.
