Architecture & Art in Napa

Join the Palm Springs Art Museum on a 4-day adventure into America’s premier wine regions, the neighboring Napa Valley and Sonoma where viticulture, visual arts, and avant-garde architecture merge, transforming vineyards and towns into major cultural destinations. Guided by architect Luke Leuschner, this trip will take patrons through the architecture of California’s wine regions, where internationally acclaimed architects combine functionality, environmental stewardship, and design.

Visit renowned vineyards and wineries such as Dominus Winery, Bella Oaks, Quixote Winery, Clos Pegase, and the Cliff May Robert Mondavi Winery, alongside exclusive arts programming including the Kramlich Collection of time-based media art, The Donum Estate's open-air sculpture collection, and the historic Donnell Garden. In San Francisco, patrons will stay at the 1 Hotel, a luxury waterfront establishment featuring an eco-conscious design; in Napa Valley, guests will stay at Alila, an intimate resort with stunning views and an epicurean flair.

Hotel check-in. Lunch at your leisure. Studio visit with sculptor Davino Semo. Welcome reception at gallerist Jessica Silverman and writer-sociologist Sarah Thornton's midcentury San Francisco apartment. Dinner at Prospect, with food from James Beard award-winning Chef Nancy Oakes.

Monday, November 16
Visit to Dominus Winery. Hotel check-in at Alila Napa Valley. Lunch at Bella Oaks, Suzanne Deal Booth's home and winery in Rutherford, with a four-course tasting menu and wine pairings. Visits to Quixote Winery and Clos Pegase. Behind-the-scenes look at the Kramlich Art Collection. Dinner at Charter Oak with food by Michelin-starred Chef Christopher Kostow.

Tuesday, November 17
Visit to the Donnell Garden. Visit to the Robert Mondavi Winery. Light lunch at the Donum Estate Vineyard. Visit to the Donum Estate's open-air sculpture museum. Visit to the Frances Bowes Collection. Dinner at Press.

Wednesday, November 18
Return to San Francisco by bus. Depart at your leisure.
