Step into an otherworldly evening with Hilma’s Ghost, the feminist artist collective co-founded by Sharmistha Ray and Dannielle Tegeder, for an immersive, candlelit feast guided by the mysteries of the tarot.
Created in 2020, the Abstract Futures Tarot has been sought after by artists, mystics, and tarot devotees around the world and now appears in its third edition. For this special gathering, Hilma’s Ghost will conjure an atmosphere of enchantment—where tarot cards are unveiled, symbolic rituals unfold, and magickal spells are cast. Expect an unforgettable night of divination, sensory pleasure, and collective magick.
This experience is held in conjunction with the opening of A Queer Arcana: Art, Magic, and Spirit, a Q+ Art Initiative exhibition at Palm Springs Art Museum (March 28–October 18, 2026) that brings together an intergenerational group of artists exploring how magical practices have informed queer artists and culture. The exhibition highlights alternative spiritual connections, divination, and transformative powers of sexuality, situating Hilma’s Ghost’s work within broader conversations of art, magic, and queer experience. As part of the evening, guests will enjoy a see-it-first tour of the exhibition led by David Evans Frantz, Curator-At-Large, Q+ Art.

About Hilma's Ghost
Hilma's Ghost fuses contemporary art with modern spirituality through forms of divination and ritual. Named after the Swedish artist and mystic Hilma af Klint, the collective critiques gendered power structures while recovering feminist histories as its ballast for critique. Their practice spans paintings, drawings, surrealist games, ritual installations, workshops, exhibitions, community projects, and artist books. Since its inception in 2020, Hilma’s Ghost has completed over 20 collaborative projects and participated in 80+ public programs internationally.
Their work has been exhibited at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Museu de Arte de São Paulo, Marlborough Gallery, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and many more. Reviews have appeared in The New York Times, The Brooklyn Rail, Artnet, and Hyperallergic. In May 2025, they launched Abstract Futures, a permanent glass mosaic mural at Grand Central Station, New York City, commissioned by MTA Arts & Design.
