Palm Springs Art Museum celebrates Bob Mackie for his lifetime contributions to the art of costume and design.
Reflections of Glamour: Bob Mackie presents a selection of Mackie’s original sketches created between the 1970s and the 2000s in a range of media, including watercolor, marker, ink, and seriograph. The presentation features a special group of costume sketches designed for Carol Burnett and Cher.
An internationally renowned costume and fashion designer and a native of Southern California, Mackie is best known for designing the wardrobe for The Carol Burnett Show during its eleven-year run, as well as for his iconic designs worn by Cher on her television show and concert tours. His work earned Emmy Awards for Cher: Live in Concert from Las Vegas (1991) and Cher: The Farewell Tour (2003).
