Join artist and jeweler Georgina Treviño for a playful, hands-on jewelry-making workshop centered on creativity, intuition, and transformation. Over the course of three hours, participants will create a small collection of wearable pieces, including earrings (hoops and studs), a brooch, and a necklace. Drawing from Treviño's jewelry practice and interest in adornment, participants will work with found objects, repurposed jewelry, charms, rhinestones, chains, and other decorative materials to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
Guests are encouraged to bring old jewelry, sentimental pieces, or collections of jewelry fragments that are no longer wearable and give them new life through creative reconstruction. No previous jewelry-making experience is required. Rather than focusing on technical skills, the workshop encourages participants to follow their intuition, experiment freely, and allow the materials to lead the creative process. Through playful exploration and guided support, participants will discover new ways of combining objects, colors, and textures while developing a personal collection of handcrafted jewelry.
July 25th will be a 21+ only event.
Join us for an Artist Talk on Saturday July 25th at 12pm where Georgina Trevino will share her art practice in conversation with Dr. Luisa Heredia, Chief Education and Community Engagement Office at Palm Springs Art Museum.
