Join award-winning Haitian American playwright France-Luce Benson in celebrating the fascinating history and cultural legacies that inspire her work.

Benson will perform excerpts from her plays Deux Femmes on the Edge de la Revolution, Tigress of San Domingue, The Devil’s Salt, and Fati’s Last Dance, followed by a discussion exploring intersections between Black American and Haitian culture, and Afro-Diasporic representation in American theatre.

Winner of the Lily’s Lorraine Hansberry Award, NNPN Best New Play, and NYSCA Individual Artist award, Benson’s plays have been produced throughout the U.S. and Europe.
