The Western Art Council is devoted to a broad vision of the art of the American West. This vision traditionally combines the complex blend of cultures, landscapes, historical forces, and artistic traditions that shape our ever-evolving notion of the West. Your membership supports the collection, interpretation, and preservation of Western and Native American fine art.
"On behalf of the WAC Board of Directors I extend our greetings and welcome you back to the desert and the Western Art Council. I hope your summer went well and you are ready for WAC fun and work. Last year was the was an extremely successful and fulfilling season.
This year will offer us new challenges as WAC and the other councils will be playing a greater role in funding our museum events. The year will start with our annual Welcome Back BBQ! and George Montgomery Awards, where we will honor extraordinary WAC members Michael O'Keefe and Susan and Michael Oster. The 2015/2016 season will also include an incredible exhibition of Western art titled Edward S.
