The Museum Service Council is the volunteer corps which enthusiastically helps to facilitate a broad range of educational activities, inspiring events, and essential services. We are committed to advancing museum-wide initiatives that increase a positive visitor experience and connect our audience to art and culture at Palm Springs Art Museum, the Annenberg Theater, The Architecture and Design Center, Edwards Harris Pavilion, and The Galen and Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden.

Volunteer Opportunities

Council membership offers countless opportunities to have fun and actively participate.

  • Become a Museum Ambassador, welcoming and informing visitors to insure a memorable museum experience
  • Enjoy interacting with visitors during FREE 2nd Sundays, Art for All Ages, and FREE Community Thursdays
  • Usher at the Annenberg Theater during live performances, art lectures, and events
  • Help visitors at the Museum Store and Bradford W. Bates Vault: The Museum Design Store
  • Greet and serve guests at the Muse Café
  • Join the Landscape Crew maintaining the Meyerman and Elrod Sculpture Gardens
  • Assist guests at fundraising events, donor dinners, and exhibition receptions
  • Provide support services at the Marks Administration Building, including working at the reception desk, assisting with mass mailings, special projects, and more
  • Help with diverse educational programs that include informative lectures, docent tours, and enrichment trips
  • Celebrate camaraderie and cuisine at Council luncheons

Easy Steps to Becoming an MSC Volunteer:

  1. Complete MSC volunteer application
  2. Attend an interview with selection committee
  3. Complete background check form
  4. Attend orientation following successful background check
  5. Pay $25 annual MSC membership fee
  6. Receive your identification name badge

current member of the museum.
