Considered a tonic of the spirit by Chinese apothecaries, Tea, according to these Taoist practitioners, comes from the same wellspring as poetry and the arts. As such, Tea masters throughout the ages have sought out locations of natural wonder and fine works of art as places to share their offerings. Through the alchemy of leaves, water and time, guests at the tea table find a moment to lay their worldly concerns at their feet and free themselves to more fully experience the beauty of the world around them. Mikki and I are excited to share this tradition with patrons of the Palm Springs Art Museum amongst the beautiful works of Alma Allen and J.B. Blunk, and, if only for a moment, share a deeper connection to their amazing creations through Tea.
