TAG (Teen Art Group)

Mondays, September-June, 2009

3:45 - 5 p.m.

TAG is a year-round program comprised of teens from throughout the Coachella Valley. The goal of TAG is for teens to be truly involved in art activities and active participants at the museum. Members help create and design teen workshops and programs, create an altar installation as part of the museum’s Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead celebration, plan the annual Teen Meet the Museum event, engage in special artistic opportunities and explore their intellectual and creative potentials.

TAG On the Go!

On February 8, TAG took a field trip to the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens to explore The Last Full Measure of Devotion: Collecting Abraham Lincoln exhibition and the various gardens. After a picnic lunch, they went to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles for a behind the scenes tour of Dan Graham: Beyond and participated in an art project led by the Teens of Contemporary Art. This trip gave TAG a chance to visit different types of museums, meet other creative teens and learn how to curate an exhibition for their upcoming Teens Inspire(d) show.
