CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACT FIGURE AND COLLAGE* WITH ROBERT BURRIDGE

Offered by the Palm Springs Art Museum and the museum's Artists Council

Classes take place in the Sidonia Milano Center on the museum's Lower Level. Weekday classes are held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekend classes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In order to provide maximum personal attention, classes are limited to 15 students, and classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register as early as possible to ensure enrollment in your class.

REGISTRATION 
Workshop fees are required with class reservations, and may be paid by credit card or by check. Please call the museum's Box Office at 760-325-4490

CANCELLATION 
Classes must reach minimum enrolment 30 days before the start of class or the class will be cancelled and full refunds will be issued. Student cancellations up to 14 days out receive a full refund. Student cancellations under 14 days out receive 50% refund of fees paid. There are no pro-rated refunds for partial workshop attendance.

CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACT FIGURE AND COLLAGE* with Robert Burridge

$525 AC members, $575 nonmembers

Drawing, painting and collaging the contemporary nude is the focus of Mr. Burridge’s popular workshop. You will learn expressive painting techniques for the modern painter. If you ever wanted to learn how to paint the freestyle abstract figure, this workshop is for you. You will learn the 12 Design Compositions for a successful painting. Your “drawing the nude” skills are not a prerequisite and a variety of poses with undraped female models will be offered. Color will be explained and explored with lots of exercises for paint sketching, gestural drawing and finger painting techniques. Be prepared to paint looser, bolder, freer, lighter and more intuitively. There will be action-filled painting exercises, demos and personalized attention and handouts will be provided. All water soluble paints are welcomed and a materials list will be provided. No photography, please.
