ART AND ADORNMENT


The Palm Springs Art Museum holds a variety of informative and stimulating lectures and symposia throughout the year, highlighting various aspects of the museum's collection and other topics of interest. Most of these are free and open to the public, however some require a nominal admission fee. Tickets can be purchased at the Annenberg Theater Box Office by calling 760.325.4490. Locations vary.

Art and Adornment

This lecture from OSHER Lifelong Learning Institute will use the topic of art and adornment to engage visitors in a lively and entertaining discussion of the historical and current influence of art on fashion. The class will coincide with the exhibition, Make it Work: Material Matters in Art and Design, at the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert featuring dresses inspired by the museum's collection of contemporary art. A tour of the exhibition will be included.
