This installation features 13 images by photographers connected to the Photo Secession at the start of the 20th century, including Paul Strand.

The prelude to Strand’s iconic photography was a group of passionate photographers associated with the Photo Secession. This installation features an important Strand photograph of his wife Rebecca alongside the work of Strand’s teachers and peers. As a context for Strand’s emergence as a young photographer in early 20thcentury are photogravures by Alfred Stieglitz, Clarence White, Frank Eugene, Baron Adolf de Meyer, Alice Boughton, Annie W. Brigman, and William B. Dyer.
