Let’s be happy vagabonds and go on a magical mobile photography adventure into some of the hidden parts of The Palm Springs Art Museum! In this innovative and fun course you will learn how to produce mobile images beyond your wildest imagination in surprisingly effortless ways. Using the revolutionary Hipstamatic app for iOS devices (iPhones, iPads, and iPods), you will learn how to take pictures that will astonish, amaze, and delight immediately, with no post-production work.

In this two day adventure you will get to peek behind the curtain into some of the Museum’s spaces that would generally be off-limits, taking once in a lifetime shots of this institutions working wonders. Along the way you will also learn the best tips, tricks, and secrets to harness Hipstamatic’s unrivaled potentials, exploring the playful power of this cutting-edge application. Mellissae Lucia began using Hipstamatic early in its development when there were only a handful of options, learning along the way the very best combinations and settings. These in-depth comparisons would be almost impossible to do now with over 190 mix-and-match options. This course will cut through the overwhelming possibilities as you learn some of the best combination for this unrivaled application so you can start taking fascinating images immediately. 

Course requirements: You will need to have a basic understanding of the workflow of your device, have an iPhone, iPod, or iPad, and purchase the Hipstamatic app with some additional Paks (about $10) for this adventure. 

Full day classes are held in the Museum’s Artists Council Center on the lower level of the museum. Classes are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and have a lunch break. To attend, tickets are available through the museum’s box office (760-325-4490).
