Kwok Wai Lau’s 30 year legendary Palm Springs Art Museum workshop is back by popular demand. Kwok Lau is known for helping hundreds of students develop their own unique style from abstraction to realism at any level. Kwok Lau’s exceptional visual knowledge and uncomplicated and fun teaching techniques, guides each student on an individual basis conceptually and technically in a multitude of mediums. His instruction in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and collage includes demonstrations, discussion and assignments.
Kwok Wai Lau will propel you to new insights and accomplishments, conducted in an encouraging and supportive studio setting. Kwok Wai Lau was on the faculty of the International Art School in HongKong. He was a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the 50’s, attending with fellow students such as Claes Oldenberg, H.C. Westermann, and Leroy Neiman. He was also a guest lecturer at the Art Institute of Chicago and School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught and inspired thousands of students in the Chicago North Shore, Los Angeles, Orange County, and Palm Springs areas. His own work from classical realism to abstraction has been shown worldwide and he was the recipient of the prestigious Pauline Palmer Prize from the Art Institute of Chicago.
